What can we engrave?

At EngraveX, we use a state-of-the-art dual-source laser system – combining both a CO2 laser and a fibre laser in one machine. This advanced setup gives us the flexibility to provide professional laser engraving and cutting services on an incredibly wide range of materials.
From industrial labels and stainless-steel plates to custom drinkware, promotional products, and unique one-off designs, our dual-source technology means we can deliver precision engraving across metals, plastics, timber, acrylics, glass, and more

Not sure if your item can be engraved? No problem. Send us an email or give us a call – our team will quickly let you know if it’s suitable for engraving or cutting.

At EngraveX, if it can be engraved, we’ll make it happen with precision, durability, and a professional finish.

Traffolyte

Traffolyte is a highly durable, multi-layered engraving laminate that has been a trusted material in the electrical and industrial labelling industry for decades.

Originally developed for switchboard and electrical applications, Traffolyte is made from a rigid phenolic plastic and is most commonly available in a 2-ply or 3-ply layered construction. Each sheet features a contrasting surface and core colour, which allows for sharply defined text, symbols, and graphics when laser engraved.

Because of its strong construction and UV-stable properties, Traffolyte is ideal for long-lasting identification labels, tags, and signage. It performs exceptionally well in both indoor and outdoor environments, maintaining clarity and colour contrast even when exposed to harsh conditions.

Some of the most common uses for Traffolyte engraving include:
– Switchboard labels and electrical identification tags
– Valve tags, cable markers, and control panel labels
– Safety signs and compliance signage
– Custom engraved tags for industrial and commercial use

With its high-visibility finish, durability, and resistance to fading, Traffolyte remains one of the most popular materials for laser engraved labels across industries that demand precision and reliability.

Stainless Steel

304 and 316 Stainless Steel are high-quality, corrosion-resistant alloys widely used across industrial, commercial, and marine applications.

304 stainless steel is the most commonly used grade, offering excellent corrosion resistance, formability, and weldability, making it suitable for a broad range of indoor and light outdoor uses.

316 stainless steel contains added molybdenum, providing enhanced resistance to chlorides and harsh chemical environments, making it ideal for marine, medical, and highly corrosive settings. Both grades offer durability, strength, and hygienic properties, with 316 being preferred in more demanding conditions..

Ways we can mark stainless steel:

  • Annealing – A mark made by heat causing a visible change without material removal
  • Etching – Removing the material and creating a permanent mark
  • Polishing – Removes the top layer of the steel, leaving an almost buff-life finish, this is not a permanent mark
  • Cermark – A chemical solution that once hit with the laser, leaves a permanent, black mark on the metal

Acrylic

Acrylic is a versatile, durable, and lightweight plastic that is widely used for both creative designs and industrial applications. Available in a wide range of colours, thicknesses, and finishes (including clear, frosted, and coloured sheets), acrylic is an ideal material for laser cutting and laser engraving.

When cut with precision laser technology, acrylic produces smooth, polished edges and clean lines – making it perfect for everything from custom cake toppers, signage, and displays through to protective covers for electrical switchboards and control panels. It is also weather-resistant, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

Common uses for laser cut and engraved acrylic include:

  • Cake toppers and event decorations
  • Business signage and retail displays
  • Protective covers for electrical switchboards
  • Stencils, templates, and even name badges!
